American Lit Revisited

Adult Enrichment -
Winter 2026

Instructor: Jenn Johnson

This course is a series of revisiting, or visiting for the first time, books taught as "Classics" in high school Lit courses. As a former, but still currently licensed, Literature teacher, I would present a class to explore the great American novels such as, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Fahrenheit 45, The Scarlet Letter, The Catcher in the Rye and potentially pairing these with more contemporary novels which explore the same themes.

For the first one, To Kill a Mockingbird paired with Go Set a Watchman - both by Harper Lee.

Participants should read the books before class begins to make the most of our time together.
