Babysitting Training BLAST!Youth EnrichmentInstructor: Mary JohnsonFor many pre-teens and teens planning on picking up jobs during the summer months, babysitting is one way to earn some extra cash. The American Heart Association offers this course to help individuals, 11 years of age and older, prepare for the responsibility of babysitting. Learn how to care for infants through school age children and perform tasks such as diapering, preparing simple meals, and dressing. In addition, the course offers ideas for toys and games to play with the children. With safety as the utmost important factor, learn how to handle emergencies and focus on safe care of infants and children. Handouts provided. Please bring a bag lunch.Fall 2025

Youth Snowmobile Safety Training FIELD DAYYouth EnrichmentInstructor: Kent Reisenauer & Ultra Snowmobile Club, United Lakes Trail Association, 218-841-3730Snowmobiling provides great opportunities for family recreation during the winter months in Minnesota. The purpose of DNR snowmobile safety training is to expose new users to basic snowmobile safety, responsibilities, ethics, laws and mechanical functions. Students will be driving a snowmobile (which will be provided), so wear proper cold weather clothing and bring a safety helmet. Students will leave the class with knowledge of proper snowmobile safety and a temporary certificate of completion. Each student will also pay an on-line DNR fee of $5.00 upon completion of the course. The official DNR certificate can be printed at home. Completed paperwork will be sent home with the students with the required information to be entered on the DNR website.Please bring appropriate clothes/snowmobile gear for the outdoor practice time which will be towards the end of the class period and a helmet if you have one. You do not need to bring your own snowmobile. We will have those provided for you. CLASS WILL RUN WITH OR WITHOUT SNOW! Requirements: Must be 11 years of age before class start date listed above in order to be eligible to take this class.
