Youth Snowmobile Safety Training FIELD DAY

Youth Enrichment -
Fall 2024

Instructor: Kent Reisenauer & Ultra Snowmobile Club, United Lakes Trail Association, 218-841-3730

Snowmobiling provides great opportunities for family recreation during the winter months in Minnesota. The purpose of DNR snowmobile safety training is to expose new users to basic snowmobile safety, responsibilities, ethics, laws and mechanical functions. Students will be driving a snowmobile (which will be provided), so wear proper cold weather clothing and bring a safety helmet. Students will leave the class with knowledge of proper snowmobile safety and a temporary certificate of completion. Each student will also pay an on-line DNR fee of $5.00 upon completion of the course. The official DNR certificate can be printed at home. Completed paperwork will be sent home with the students with the required information to be entered on the DNR website.

Please bring appropriate clothes/snowmobile gear for the outdoor practice time which will be towards the end of the class period and a helmet if you have one. You do not need to bring your own snowmobile. We will have those provided for you.

CLASS WILL RUN WITH OR WITHOUT SNOW!

Requirements: Must be 11 years of age before class start date listed above in order to be eligible to take this class. Certificate becomes valid at age 12

Reminder: Prior to the field day, all students need to have completed the online snowmobile course and bring the printed certificate of completion to class.
