Online Driver EducationDriver EducationThe Detroit Lakes Community Education is happy to be partnering with the A+ Driving School. A+ Driving School has designed their own fully online class platform made specifically for MINNESOTA STUDENTS. Their program is approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and utilizes proven teaching methods that keep the student engaged throughout the learning process. Key Benefits: Start classes anytime and take at your own pace up to 3 hours a day. Classes are available On-Demand and are self-paced. Entertaining "Live" classroom setting. Minimal reading for students. Free Study Guide to all students. "Hands On" activities to reinforce information and get parents involved. 24/7 instructor support. The fee includes 30 hours of online classroom instruction and 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel with a certified instructor. Students will pay a $20 activation fee at the start of the course. If you do not receive an email with a code/link to begin the online course, please call Andrew Lesch at 218-847-4418, #6101. Reminders: MN law states students must be at least 14 years old to enroll in Driver's Education. However, it is recommended that students be at least 14½ to take the 30-hour classroom instruction to help ensure they retain the material before taking the permit (knowledge) test at the age of 15. Once your student has successfully completed the 30 hours of online classroom instruction, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to contact Community Education to ensure the student is entered into the BLUE e-Card database. If the office is not notified, student will not show up in e-card database. Once the student has been successfully entered, you will receive an email confirmation from MN_DPS. Pediatric FA/CPR/AEDAdult EnrichmentInstructor: Mary Johnson The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course meets the training needs of child care providers in almost all U.S. states and meets the Minnesota Department of Human Services Rule 3 requirement while also being a comprehensive resource for parents, grandparents, teachers, babysitters, or anyone responsible for the safety of children. Combining classroom and hands-on skill components, child care providers and parents learn critical first aid skills, ranging from how to create a safe environment to prevent injuries to lifesaving CPR. Course content also includes illnesses and injuries, bleeding and bandaging, allergic reactions, how to use an epinephrine pen, asthma, bites and stings, and burns. This class does not include adult CPR/AED.Winter 2026 -

Wiggles and GigglesECFE Parent & Child Classes(expectant, infants, toddlers) Being pregnant or having an infant or toddler is both exciting and challenging! Feeding, soothing, sleeping, child development, safety, child and parent health, and additional discussions will be customized to questions and needs of families, along with time to play and explore. Specially trained nurses from public health and guest facilitators will join ECFE.
