American Lit RevisitedAdult EnrichmentInstructor: Jenn Johnson This course is a series of revisiting, or visiting for the first time, books taught as "Classics" in high school Lit courses. As a former, but still currently licensed, Literature teacher, I would present a class to explore the great American novels such as, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Fahrenheit 45, The Scarlet Letter, The Catcher in the Rye and potentially pairing these with more contemporary novels which explore the same themes. For the first one, we'll be exploring The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, paired with Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue.Fall 2025

B.E.S.T (Basic Education for Safe Travel) formerly C.A.R.S.Adult EnrichmentInstructor: Mary Johnson The B.E.S.T (formerly C.A.R.S) curriculum is a hybrid training. The online “Car Seat Basics” portion of the training takes about 1 hour to complete with a 10 question quiz at the end. The in-person portion will take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour and function similar to a car seat checkup where the caregiver needs to demonstrate they can install their car seat with the facilitator's guidance. Proof of completion of the on-line portion must be provided at the time the in-person portion of the training takes place. No exceptions. Please note: the on-line portion must be completed no sooner than 30 days prior to the hands-on portion. The B.E.S.T. in-person portion of the training will take place between the hours of 10am to 1pm on date specified. The B.E.S.T. facilitator, Mary Johnson, will email you the exact time that you will be scheduled during that time slot for your in-person portion. Therefore, registration will close 4 days prior to the training to allow exact times to be allocated. Please be punctual. If you fail to show up, you will have to register for the next training. Important: The expectation is that each person will be familiar with the car seat and vehicle used for the installation before arriving for in-person portion. Familiarity with the car seat and vehicle will help ensure that the in-person portion can be completed in a timely manner. Please note: B.E.S.T will no longer be using the Develop website.Fall 2025

Gingerbread House Bake & BuildAdult EnrichmentInstructor: Tess Georgakopoulos Cook-Along, Demonstration, & Presentation style class! Gather the whole family and join in the fun Baking and Building your very own show-stopping gingerbread house from scratch during this festive Family Bake-along experience. Participants will receive a professionally made PDF ingredient list and prep packet a week in advance of the class to allow time for shopping and preparation. The packet will also include the Instructor’s “Gingerbread House Specific” Recipe that she has tested time and time again to ensure the cookie pieces are delicious but strong enough to hold the weight of the icing and decorations. A template that will need to be printed and cut out before class to be used as a “pattern” will also be included. Whether you are starting a new family tradition, or continuing a beloved one, this cozy, joy-filled experience will leave everyone smiling, and maybe sneaking a few gumdrops.
